Mamacita is a New Mexican restaurant in West Hampstead with a great atmosphere and it has already become very popular. I have heard that it’s brunch is well worth going for, but popped in for dinner on this occasion.
The restaurant is full of brightly coloured tables and chairs and was very busy for a weeknight. There’s an upbeat spirit full of chatter, music and plenty of cocktails being made in the background. I opted for prawn enchiladas which were tasty, but unfortunately too spicy for me. The sides were fantastic though – possibly the best sweet potato fries around and a refreshing green salad with a superb dressing (it’s the dressing that lets lots of salads down in my opinion). The elderflower and orange sangria punch was an interesting twist on the Spanish original, and I’ll probably be back to try out the rest of their cocktails!
