Christmas in the Country

Apologies for not posting recently, I’ve been in the country with poor internet! Here are a few photos from Christmas past and present – some of my favourite festive things. I love Christmas in the country – long walks, roaring log fires, good company and copious amounts of good food! I’m always a little sad when it’s over and we have a few long, cold months to get through before Spring arrives.

A local turkey arrives

It’s important to support local farmers I think rather than supermarkets (when possible), plus this turkey came in a handy box rather than smothered in plastic

Christmas Dinner 2011

I especially love these red crackers, but this was actually a previous Christmas Dinner – we had to bring in a larger table this year to accommodate 18 people on Christmas Day!

Plenty of wood for the log fire (not sure why it appeals to the cats though!)

As we haven’t had any snow yet this winter (in the UK) you can probably tell that this final picture is from a previous Christmas – snow chilled Baileys! But I have been enjoying some this winter (with plenty of ice), mostly the new Baileys Chocolat Luxe which I have already reviewed for this blog.
